The European Union, in its continuous effort to promote the transition towards more sustainable mobility, has introduced new legislation through the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), marking a significant step forward in facilitating access to electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Starting from April 13, 2024, new publicly accessible charging points will be required to offer the possibility of ad hoc charging using widely accepted payment instruments within the European Union. This obligation translates into the need for charging point operators to accept electronic payments through terminals and devices compatible with payment services. Among the available options, it must be ensured that at least the use of payment card readers or contactless functionality devices, capable of processing transactions through payment card reading, is guaranteed.

The resolution to this new regulatory challenge comes in the form of simplified payment management offered by innovative solutions such as ElectriEase’s EASEpayment. This service represents an evolution in the field of electronic payments for electric vehicle charging, proposing a white label POS system that allows charging point operators to control up to 100 connectors with a single device. This solution not only simplifies the infrastructure required to manage payments but also makes the user experience smoother for the end user. Thanks to Ease Payment (in the QRCode and POS solutions), the CPO can collect directly without intermediaries and deciding on the price profile to be applied to the end user

Thanks to EASEBilling, it is possible to manage the billing and sending of the consideration. The user can easily request the invoice by entering data via a simple QRCODE.

ElectriEase thus positions itself as a reference point in the landscape of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, offering cutting-edge solutions that perfectly meet the needs dictated by new regulations. Discovering all the solutions proposed by ElectriEase means moving closer to a future where electric mobility will be increasingly accessible, simple, and integrated into the urban and social fabric of the European Union, thus contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment for future generations.
